My son Jay, Hop and I lucked out today and had a blast. We fished from 6:00 till 9:30.

The bite turned off for us around 9:00. We boated well over a dozen fish.

We lost count of the blow ups at around 45. At times we were getting multiple blow ups.

We were tripled up at one time and had several double ups. They were very aggressive, sucking the lures under rather than knocking at them.

My son kept losing fish early that were hooked, come to find out I had not tightened up his drag after storage.

None of the fish were that big today. They ranged from 18" to 21".

We kept the first 6 that my wife asked me to bring home and released the rest.

We were fishing over hard bottom in 5' to 4' of water in middle West Bay.

Luck

Whoa!!!!
Thanks for the copliments but....
Dudes I think that's going a little too far.
It's just a whole lot of luck mixed in with a little persistence.
My wife calls it "obsessiveness".
You just got to believe the fish are gonna be there.

Actually the fishing in Galveston has been better that I can ever remmember.
I move here in '83 and stated fishing with my older brother and
I can remember how hard it was to catch trout for years.
The fishery has exploded in the last few years.
Thank you Lord!!! Amen!

No Doubt! The key to tops is to grind it out in an area where you think the fish would be. If they are there they'll hit it. Heck I'd even hit it if i was one of them trout. Can you imagine how annoying it would be to have 3 she dogs clicking and rattling non stop till you bit one or left? LOL
We had some awesome double hook-ups with head shaking and aerial displays!
Fun time for sure!
