9lb Star Tournament Trout
For those of us who didn't fish today in the rain, I heard from a reliable source that an angler whom I will not mention his name but his initials are KS caught a 9 lb Trout this morning at the Surfside Jetties in the rain. The Star Tournament fish was weighted in at Beach Bait & Tackle still alive at 9:30 this morning. To his credit KS lead the Star Tournament much of last year with an 8.8 Trout, he also had a fish over 6lbs this morning.

I know of that hole where the 12 pound trout was caught. I used to fish there when I was a kid. It could have a big fish in it, they cant get out.
My uncle giged a 10 and 1/2 pound floundre in it back in the 70's, no pics just a full belly.
The fish get in there on storm tides and then can only grow. I've seen 30 to 40 lb drum in there dead last summer.

I know where it's at and yes there are some monster fish in there, Trout, Reds, and Flounder but you can't enter a fish in the STAR that is caught from there so don't waste your time. Gater

it's not private and it's legally accessible by anyone that wants to fish it.

Just because a guy with a digital camera didnt catch it dont mean it aint so. I happen to know the guy that got it, as well and he's not a tournament fisherman but he could probably outfish most on this board. Most only dream of what this guy does on the water. Inshore and offshore......
If he said he caught it, thats good enough for me.

Texas state record trout was cought in baffin bay by james wallace and was 33.13 inches and weighed 13.69 lbs.on 02/06/96 (approximate girth would be 18inches) not tryin to start nothin just stating fact. and also a 12 lb trout would only have to be about 32 inches and 17.5 inches in girth. that is for rod and reel for fly it is bigger cought 5/23/02 in lower laguna madre by carl rowland 37.25 inches and 15.6 lbs

i won with a 77.6 lb ling and that ******* BILL KINNEY stuck it too me. polygraph said i had worked as a guide or deckhand in the past 3 years. polygraphs are read the way the polygrapher inturpet[sp] it.there was 8 other people on the boat when i caught the fish that steped up and would take a polygraph on my behalf at my expence, and ol BILL KINNEY said there was nothing he could do. does that sound fair? hell no! the cca has used the same polygrapher for the last 16 years. thats BS! i could go on and on, but i'm not going too. hope you can pass a polygraph if you ever win it?? i am 43 years old and worked as a deckhand when i was 15. never as a guide. hell, i want to fish when i'm on the water, not take or show nobody nothing.i will never support the cca as long as i live and will encourge my friends and whoever not too also. have a good day,joe's garageSow Trout said:Please tell us how CCA screwed you.

Ya, that jetty system can be very hot at times.
I'm not suprised at all that a fish that big came from there, i just can't believe he caught it in these conditions.
