My boat is 21'-9" and it weighs about 3500 lbs full of gas, water, and people..
Minn Kote says 2 lbs of thrust for evey 100 lbs... So 74 lbs of thrust ought ot be enough...but that might be a freshwater calculation..cause they say check with your dealer(cop out)...

I'm sure there are some 21-22 foot Kenner, Seapro, Blazer, Sea Hunts on the forums that have real experience with our winds , tides and a feeling whether a 74 lbs. autopilot or hand steering trolling motor is big enough for our waters? Help me out on this if you have a similar rig...

Thats big enough. I'd get the 82 lb. Motor Guide.

I have a 21' 8" Bay Stealth with a 150 and my 24V 74lb Minn Kota works great, think it pushes 3.5-4 mph and close to that direct into the wind...

I have a 21' Kenner K2102 Vision w/150 Merc and the 24V 74# Minn Kota works just fine for me. It's a bow mount w/ handle steering.

trolling motors

I have a 74 lb thrust Minnkota mounted on the bow of my Seapro 21 foot center console. It pulls the boat along just fine even against the wind.

Any body have any comments about using a 65 lbs. thrust motor on this size boat...I know dealers equip with them...and usually 52-54" shafts..and the 3X1 new steering feature...turns 180 with aquarter turn. How hard is it to steer and fish ?
