Stay Put, Small Slicks, and 3-4 Times

Jeff Knox who booked the trip is holding a solid trout.

It was kind of funny hearing these guys say...if we were fishing on our own, we would have never stayed once the bite shut down. Furthermore, wading the same area 3 to 4 times was crazy. The best was, catching trout to 8 lbs in calf-deep water in July:) All of these crazy things we did. I felt like staying put on a Saturday was the best strategy. And, to stay put meant wading our area over and over. Slicks were popping in less then a foot of water. A small round slick normally indicates big trout. Longer wider slicks, normally signals school trout.

Here is close up shot of the 8 lb. trout. Margarita color Norton bull minnow proved best for off color water.
