Didn't think about the date until last night around midnight, but maybe that's why I didn't see a soul on the water. Hit the Jones Lake area at sunset and was done by 11. No wind, mosquitos not too bad, and water was pretty clear. Saw plenty of big crabs too.

what is your opinion on giggin in a kayak? what kind of light set up would you need?

It might not be so bad giggin from kayak, your prombaly rig up a crappie light or a green light ,either one should work you'll just have to get creative.
