2Cool Fishing Tournament

Well folks we are 3 1/2 weeks out from the tournament (June 24th). After talking to MuddSkipper yesterday he tells me that we have not received any entry forms. We are getting dowm to wire here and I really need to know if everyone is still interested in this tournament. If not that is fine. It won't hurt my feelings. As you all know the money generated from this tournament is to go to the 2cool site. Here is the problem. If there is not going to be much of a turnout then it becomes a losing proposition ie food and plaques for all the winners. There will be another tournament at April fool Marina that day but as anyone that has been there knows, there is plenty of room. What I don't want to happen is that we have such a small tournament that A) April Fool's make no money off the food served (each entry fee covers a plate lunch). They are not charging us for the use of thier facilities. That being the case they could hopefully book another tournament. That maybe to late though. B) There is not enough money to cover the cost of the plaques and C) The site gets no money. Look I know it's the start of summer and plans are being made to spend time with our families so commiting gets kinda hard. I'm in that same boat with my grand kids. So lets all just be honest here and let MuddSkipper and I know if enough 2coolers are going to be able to make it. Hey, we're all family here and sometimes you have to tell someone in your family that you just can't make it. No harm there. MuddSkipper and I will give it till the middle of next week to make a decision on weather to proceed or not. Please give us your thoughts. Thanks, Boat

Let's get a rollcall for who is going to fish this.

 April Fool Point Marina
815 Ave O, San Leon
$30 per fisherman, which includes a plate lunch at the weigh-in
$15 per kid- 12 and under

I think folks may just be dragging their feet. That's my problem. Backlasher and I plan to participate in the tournament. Either by kayak or on somebody's bote (if we get an invitation). I printed out the entry forms yesterday. We're in, just haven't mailed the forms/check yet.

Have you thought about just having a certificate for the winners??? Just put it in a plastic sleeve and you won't even need a frame. That's less expensive. After all, this is for fun and bragging rights!

I agree with Mrs. B., plaques are a waste of money. Give that money to 2cool. Donated prizes, etc., will be plenty for tournament gifts. Maybe we could purchase some 2cool stickers / t-shirts / flags and give them to the winners?

So that's what .... SIX of us in the tournament so far???

Well, maybe the thunderstorms have knocked out power and some folks can't get on the internet yet. Or maybe they're still at work. Or taking a rainy-day nap (that's Backlasher and the cat right now!).
