We are very proud to sponsor the 2004 Seadrift “Catch Tank” event for the kids of Seadrift. My wife Deb wanted to give back to the community of Seadrift. Deb called around and finally found Jeff Scott with Texas Junior Anglers www.texasjunioranglers.orgto bring his “Catch Tank” for the kids of Seadrift. On Thursday June 10, the Seadrift 2004 Shrimpfest started with Thursday dedicated as a Youth Day. The turn out was tremendous despite a small problem getting fresh water for the catfish. The Seadrift VFD brought in water from an old water truck. I guess the water tank must have been rusted out. The water came out looking like the Red River water of Texas. The catfish or kids didn’t mind, bites were steady.

Each kid received a free Bay Flats Lodge/Seadrift 2004 Shrimpfest T-shirt. We gave away small trophies for the largest fish caught. The event lasted from noon till 5:00 PM. We are already looking at sponsoring next year’s event to last all four days of the Shrimpfest.

Here are a few photos of this year’s event. If you wish to become part of the 2005 Seadrift Shrimpfest, please contact Deb Martin at 1-888-677-4868.
