I have 96 175 Oceanrunner. Had it rebuilt 1 1/2 years ago. Not many hours sense. On getting it from the shop with what we thought was a lower unit problem, We were informed that when tested 2 cylinders have 0 compression #2 and #4. We checked compression and confirmed it. Also tore into it and inspected the cylinders with no apparent damage without going further. Cylinders looked fine and were a little wet with fuel.
Please advise me on the possible causes or fixes. Head gasket? valve? Worse?
I appreciate the advice.

I would first try replacing the head gasket with a new one and check compression again. Stuck rings from carbon build up could also be a problem, but I'm guessing you would see some cylinder damage if that was the case.

that engine if a ocean runner only uses o-rings for gaskets, one for each bore on the heads, that can be reused, so I have never seen them blow a o-ring, not saying it can not happen, but i have never seen it happen.
