This buck was shot by my dad on 11/15/2006 on the San Bernard River Bottom near Kendleton in Fort Bend County. He was shot at 5:00 p.m. He's a 10 point with a 17 1/2" spread; nice full bodied deer. Weighed 138 lbs on the hoof. Texas Trophy Taxidermy aged the buck at 6 1/2 years old.
Great deer. Congrats to your Dad. You'd be surprised what lives in our backyards. I've seen deer in the Clear Lake area that would push 150". Man, can't wait for mid December and South Texas. I think my neck is starting to swell.
They are still there... I saw one that would push 150 a couple of weeks ago about 1 mile west of Hwy 6 near Dewalt. He was eating in someones yard...LOL
Great Fort Bend deer. Why does it seem everyone has to travel to their hunting property at least an hour or more. I live 10 minutes from Kenelton and would love to have that lease. My house would be camp. I've seen some big one's roaming around in Fort Bend.
I have a buddy that lives in Tierra Grande on 8 acres. He's hunting a 12 pointer on the back of his property the past several days. His backs up to the San Bernard.
