and was wonderin if anybody had gone the 1st weekend. Kinda curious as to how things were down there as far as deer and ground condtions go? I know the skeeters are gonna be hot, thats a given. Any reports would be appreciated.
Have a lease that backs up to the refuge, Skeeter are out-rageous, Have not had alot of Deer movement, but we just finished the full moon stage. Things are bound to get better with this little cold front that we just recieved. Although you should never have a problem shooting a pig or two on the refuge Good Luck on your Hunt I woul be out hunting myself but go back to work Thursday Night, Watch out Tuesday Evening I will be chasing them again.Oh yeah it still may be a little wet we still have quite a bit of water in our pasture. Becareful watch for water mocassins and good luck
Thanks for the insight and hopefully the deer movement will pick up and I had a feelin the water would be some what of a hazard. It always is down there cuz theres nowhere for it to go.
its looks like its goin to be alittle warmer weather than I would prefer to be workin my *** off and hunting in hwell: , but hey it'll be fun IMO. I hope
I have seen bucks that I would shoot on every trip goose hunting this year standing and feeding next to HW 35 near the NWR. At 65mph and at 2:30am it is hard to "age and score" and animal but severas were wide and high. Saw a little forked horn buck cross HW 35 business in the middle of Rockport this morning on my way to the dentist. He was small but looked healthy. Probably feeds on domestic landscape plants. You might set up just south of the Wal Mart parking lot if you want him. LOL
