On the hunt in burnett county, my oldest got himself a nice 8 pnt and made a perfect broadside shot.
We were hunting a feeder on the fourth hunt for the weekend.
So far we had seen alot of deer, but all on the move chasing does and nothing really coming to the feeders.
This evening would be different for what ever reason.
As we set, I hit the horns together a couple of times with no responces.
So we set, waiting , and 3 does show up.
I asked him if a doe would do for him and he said of course no, "I want a buck".
The does all looked to the west at the same time and I explained how they knew something was coming .
We got ready.
A nice 8 pnt shows and gives us a perfect broadside view.
I say take him when your ready and he fires.
The 243 did its job, and it falls after a 30 yd run.
He looked up and said thank you God.
I was really proud of him as well.
He's a veteren with 6 deer under his belt now.
Heres the pics of the young deer hunter and his guide (daddy).
Oh, I took a doe, couldnt be left out.

Good deal keep teaching our young people how to hunt.
I took my nephew on this hunt as well, and try to take him and his brother somewhere every yr if I can. He wouldnt be exposed to it if I didnt.
He wounded a nice eight and that was all he had the green light on, except for does. ANd nothing was standing still long with the chasing going on.
He drew blood and that was his deer. Like I said, I was a guest, and even though the owner wasnt there. Rules are rules.
I had the green light for the young bucks for my sons, if anyone is wondering.
One buck each and a doe was our limit. I only took one doe.
Believe it or not, we didnt see many does standing still, most went by in a hurry.
I appreciated the generousity of the owner to start with.
Its not many land owners that let you hunt for free these days.
Now my neice wants to hunt. Shes 12.
Oh well, Uncle Ray will just have to tighten up. She will hunt next yr, I promise.
