The 330 inch breeding deer on that other post got me thinking...
I wonder what long term effects are in our future caused by the genetic manipulation of the whitetail deer herds in Texas. Granted, most of these are in high fence, but just like axis deer, sooner or later, bucks that are the result of human influenced breeding are going to be roaming around everywhere. I realize the most obvious of these changes are the horns.... but I don't believe you can screw with nature and genetics this much without eventually causing some negative effects.
has anyone heard of any diseases or disorders possibly resulting from breeding deer?
