2Cool bicyclist thread.

Since there are a few of us here, I thought it would be a good idea to have our own thread that doesn't get buried up top.

Mountain biker myself and this is my new rig. 2011 Trek Fuel EX8. Been modded a little and currently weighs 26.3 lbs.

Comon bikers!

The stock cranks were Shimano, but considered non labled. In other words, not even up to the LX line. The stock crank weighs 838 grams and the XT weighs 766 WITH the bottom bracket. Whe installing the XT cranks I soon learn that my bike doesn't have a threaded BB shell, so I'm stuck with the press fit BB91s. My math shows a weight savings of rotating mass at 162 grams or, .36 lbs.

As far as tires, the bike came with Bontragers and from I read, pretty much, don't "Bite" Those are Kenda Karmas which I find to be very light compared to Nevegals or SB 8s with much less rolling resistance.

Other upgrades are the seat post and stem, Tompson, peddles are Welgo MG-1's and I have an Easton carbon bar on the way.

I need to get in shape though. The bike is far better than me.

i hear ya. been real congested lately. wish i could ride more. i even dont mind riding pavement.

had nevagals on my trek. huge upgrade over the stock bontragers especially over loose dirt and roots.

havent figured out the whole crank thing. i just noticed they look good have slx on mine workin on a new wheelset. bent my rear on step and massive root. slightly out of round.

considering picking up a 26er to jump at the anthills.

Fancy don't count on the trail bro. It becomes a passion to build something that fits your personality, as a hobby!
