HK (petrohawk) stock?

The stock jumped roughly 65% friday. Should I sell it or hold? The company is being bought by an Australian firm.

yes. but seriously, demand is high right now - hence the 65% jump. most people must be thinking it's a good buy. i talked to a guy there today and he said, u know, u do a good job and start making $, everyone's having fun and then then big boys come and say it's our play ground, go away. and they snatch up the business...

Sell a % until you get your original money back, then you are playing with their money. Or you got the new buyers stock for free.

Depends on if your "playing" the market or "investing" in the market. BHP is fast becoming a big player in shale activity, bought CHK Fayettville Shale part last year, and the HK acerage in Eagle Ford is very promising. What they have here in North La (Haynesville Shale) is really what put HK on the map. Everyone knew it was just a matter of time before them to sell, especially after spinning off their gathering side to Kinder Morgan. I've always heard, sell into the buy and buy into the sell trend. But If I would of done that several times prior, man would I be in high cotton now. Wish I still had that 5000 shares of HK I had 5 years ago at 7.00 Oh well easy come easy go but I do know what goes up WILL come down! Good luck.

It's just playing around money. They put a pipeline through my ranch so I took the money and invested it in their company. It worked out rather well.

Highly suggest holding on to it since BHP has a nice twice a year dividend.

I am in the same spot as you. I have playing money in them and have been debating the same thing.
From what I have decided, BHP is an australian natural resources company that specializes more in ore/coal products and they are trying to complete the natural resource circle by buying up alot of CHK assets and now HK assets to move into oil and gas. If it is "playing" around money like mine is I would hold onto it. Like previously stated BHP has a dividend and they are trading at $90 +/- right now.

My $0.02 that might be worth less
