200e7 drag washer ?

Does anybody know where I can buy drag washers for a curado 200e7 locally ( South side of Houston to Galveston) ? The guys at FTU looked at me like I had 3 heads when I wanted the interior washer as well as the one that rides down in the main gear.

If not a good web site that might have them. Thanks

Dartanium ..... pffffffffffffffffffffffft I am not impressed

Only one I would think would have them in town, would be FTU .

Tell them you are looking for the Carbontex drag washers for the new Curado 200 E.

I looked at their price list and it didn't have any listed for the 200 E, but that doesn't mean they don't have them.

They are good people at Smoooooth Drag.

If they looked at you like that it means they were out of that washer. You can ask them if they have a drag washer for a Ch100D. those are just a bit bigger, but I have taken some fine sandpaper and rolled it between my fingers and wonr it down to size so it would fit. Right now there seems to be issues with parts. Those of us that fix em up for peeps are having to think outside the box to make things happen. I personally have 3 reels apart to help out others. It's okie dokie though. Got 5 more reels that are good to go..LOL I agree with the dartanium. I'm not impressed with them because they can corrode so quickly to the inside of that main gear. Hard to get em loose unless you soak em over nigth in CLR and even then you have to be vary careful taking it out..No offense Bantam..

You did notice that "Biggreenfish.com" gets their drag washers from SMOOOOOTH DRAG out of CA. (was posted above).

You can go straight to the source: SMOOOOOTH DRAG.

I mean, that's where biggreenfish gets their's, why wouldn't you .

I do like biggreenfish's way of ordering better than SMOOOOOTH DRAG's, but sometimes it's better to go to the source.

Doesn't matter where you order from, just get you some .

We only seem to be having this issue in your area. I do not hear this problem anywhere else. From what I have seen as long as the washers are greased correctly they will not stick to the main gear. It will also prevent water from soaking into the washer.

Thanks guys. I ordered a supertune kit for the reel and hope it ends up being a smart decision.

I was suprised when I opened the reel up for the first time yesterday and the drag washers were in such miserable shape. I've only had the reel for 6 months. ( I bought it new in box at retail) It's very lightly used and has never been dunked on a wading expedition.

The reel showed significant evidence of corrosion internally and the drag washers reminded me of something that had been severely overheated ( caught very few fish on this reel and have never even approached a max drag setting on it while landing a fish)

After Stumpgrinder's post the other day, I figured I would go a head and order some Carbontex washers from Smooooth Drag.

I sent an e-mail with a few of my newer Shimano's listed (Chronarch D7, Curado 200E7 and Core 50MG7), as these newer models weren't listed on the price list.

That e-mail was sent in the AM on 8-11-10. After not hearing back from them yesterday and also early this morning, I placed an order with Biggreenfish.com today (after saying "go to the source" ).

Needless to say, I get the following e-mail response from Dawn @ Smooooth Drag.

Hi
I do have all the drags you list below. Go ahead and call, or email me a list, whichever is easier for you.

Thank you
Dawn

Of course I sent her a reply that I ordered earlier today from biggreenfish.com .

She sent back:

No problem, Big green does a very good job and will get your stuff right to you.

Thank you
Dawn

So, if you were thinking about getting some up-graded drag washers you can order from both places.

Dawn does an excellent job.....I would do the phone thing if I needed an immediate response.
The Longfin is yet another source and usually with a bit of a discount.
These folks have gone above and beyond for me in the past.
