another drag washer question

Where can I get some drag washers for my chronarch sf. And my curado bsf ? Everyone one I have tried seems to be out of stock. Also, why are they scarce?

Hey Bo thanks! I didn't even think of ebay. Would be a good idea to buy all my parts there as I always drop a wad of cash every time I walk through the doors at FTU!!

The drag washers are on backorder until the end of September. You can resurface the washer and relubricate it. Here is a maintenance guide I did for a friends website. I show how this is done.

Academy has been clearing out their supply of maintenance kits for Shimanos for $5 each. The kits have drag washers, drag grease, a spool bearing, shimano oil, and some replacement brake weights in them. I am pretty sure I have seen kits for both of those reels. I saw a post about this earlier and went and bought several kits. The bearing alone would cost more than $5, so they are a great deal. You might have to check a few stores to find them ... grin. I am pretty sure the one at Hwy. 6 and Westheimer does not have any more of the kits.
