Florida any most state's along the gulf coast
Yep,got to have one at all time's on your person while fishing from land or in a boat.Year's ago in Florida and many other state's.You did not even need one for salt water fishing.Though the time's have changed and the money grabbers got their hand on your wallet. Just have to deal with it. If you get caught without one$$$.Then if you have undersized fish or prohibited species.Well, big dollar fines and you can loose the boat trailer truck and all your gear. Also if ya give the game warden any lip.Jail,I have seen this as fact at a Florida boat ramp. The guy had a few undersized fish in his cooler. Then the guy gave the game warden some lip. They the law, took his truck trailer and boat.Put the guy in cuff's and he was off to the clink. Pay the $35 or what ever the fee,and do it right. Fishing no better sport in the world.

Mr Jennings
would you consider that bet leaving a different Jetty system? In Texas of course. Heck man, I wouldn't even take the winnings from you, I just wanna go fishing. I've read the Entire thread here. and every other thread posted in this section since Mont added it.
Conclusion: There is many many people including Captains who are extremely Passionate about the outcome concerning Federal Waters and the Fish it holds. If everyone would just come together, things would roll quicker in the right direction.
But anytime Information is posted up, there's always someone who turns it into a Whizzing contest. WHY? Just once, I'd like to read information and investigate myself and not have to read misinformed biased opinion based Post.
Mike, you up for a South Texas Trip? We can Pick up Swells and Brandon along the way.

SOS BS
Hickman,
We have set the standard with Hilton's and that is nothing to apologize for. We are poised to set the bar much higher in fact.
We do not promote wanton waste of the resource however, as this stunt that Williams is trying to pull off does. You guys are all worried about the alleged egregious illegal fishing done by private recs, claiming it is shortening your fishing days. However, when one of your own is suggesting wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds of snapper, you look the other way.
There will be hell to pay, I would imagine, if he tries to pull this off.
Tom

As you should not have to apoligize for providing a great service as I dont, Making money is a good thing. The fact is you have put a lot of fish on the decks of boats and made money on it and the point I am making is dont throw stones. I do not condone catch and release Snapper fishing I get a limit my boat moves to something else, we generally spend 15-20 minutes per day snapper fishing. The resource is something I am passionate about as you are. Most of the SOS supporters are 6 pack boats. I like Capt. Williams and consider him a friend we dont agree on everything as you and I dont but we care about this resource. It will all work out in the end. Support www.saveoursector.com Calm Seas........

Wow, I actually thought that it was April 1rst already until I read that on Capt. John's website. That also means what fish they could legally land other than Red Snapper will also be thrown back. Not much surprises me these days, but for Capt. John to do this, it does.

Well you're right ... but the fact it is completely legal is a sign that our system is broken. It is perfectly fine and legal to catch out of season snapper and throw them back into the water.

SOS BS
Capt Hingle,
That may be, but the fact of the matter is that you can bet that this type of wanton waste will be monitored by the NMFS to justify even earlier closing of our seasons. After all, this would be killing hundreds of thousands of pounds of fish by a SOS boat OUTSIDE the federal season.
Where is the outcry from the SOS brethren regarding the shortening of their (our) season due to the financial benefit of ONE BOAT? Where is the call for accountability from the SOS brethren now?
The silence is deafening.
Tom

Tom dude, the SOS accountability was all about landing fish at the dock, not throwing by-catch back into the water. Same for all the private rec proposals.
