Curado-

Aluminum frame
Graphite side plates
200 size spool (wider)

Chronarch

Aluminum frame and side plates
100 size spool (narrower and lighter)
Tapered line guide insert for reduced line friction when casting

These are the major differences in pricing.

If it's my money I'm spending, I would get the Curado. If it's my kids money, I'd go for the Chronarch.
I have both and there just isn't $100 worth of difference, in my opinion. They are both GREAT reels and I would be happy with either!
Have fun!

I agree and disagree with WanaBe. IMHO the Chronarch is well worth the extra money. Having used both of these reels since they came out last year I favor the Chronarch for its lighter weight and after using one for a while, it is much smoother. Either one is a great reel. \Now if Shimano will just make a Chronarch 50 with the aluminum frame.

If I am following this thread right, isn't the curado 100b with the waffle spool what you are looking for, does that give you the frame you are looking for? If I am off, sorry!

You're almost describing the Curado 100D.

I hate the HEG feature, too!
