Not sure if someone posted these here yet or not.. They came to me via email suppose to be from someone's neighborhood in Colorado.. If so I need to buy a house in this neighborhood for sure..
I've seen Elk like that in Estes Park before. I love being able to
sit and watch them that close but the locals hate them. You
can guess what they can do to a yard and the rest of your
landscaping. Thanks for posting the photos. Later Baker
PS: I think they finally started to manage the herds in
Rocky Mountain National Park. I read on the CODW website
that Colorado residents could get in a drawing for 1 elk carcass
from the park. A free gutted and skinned elk is a drawing I'd enter
for sure.
I've seen the same thing in Boulder, Co. The residents hate them there also. The elk are hard on landscaping, eating shrubs, flowers, grass plus come time to shed velvet no tree is safe. Seems like a problem I could enjoy living with!
If the neighborhood association would call me I would be happy to come dispatch all of them for them... just a little pop up blind, maybe that chick could bring me some lemonade from time to time.. okay I am dreaming
He, he, Reminds me of the story in the Denton Record Chronical about home owners that were upset they were having their lawns torn up by wild hogs. One guy who was trying to sell him home complained so much damage was done to his landscaping he had to seriously reduce his asking price.
My wife just laughed, looked at me and said, you'd likely pay the man extra for the house if you new you could shoot pigs in your own backyard!
Take a trip to Estes Park , Co. the first few days of Oct for Elk Fest , you guys will freak !
