I will post a full report and more pictures tonight, but thought the duck hunters would enjoy seeing the banded pintail 'njacob' & a lurker teamed up on out of one of Jason Brou's (Hog Heaven) blinds yesterday.
The info FINALLY came back on this bird, thought some of the fellow duck hunters might enjoy:
Banded in Saskatchewan, Canada in '05.
Hatched in '04 or earlier.
He wasn't the oldest sprig on the pond, but he successfully made at least 4 migrations and hopefully spread plenty of his genes around!
I know several members have killed banded birds (mostly redheads if memory serves) while hunting with Brou. It would be interesting to see where they came from as well.
We got one of those this year as well not taken by me but one of the other hunters in our circle.
