i hunted there 3 yrs
past bell's camp and courtney graveyard more toward trinity
shoot your deer early in the season don't pass on a quality buck, you likely won't see him again, because the buck doe ratio is about 20:1, there are some very solid deer there. don't count on a buck to come to a feeder, watch the surrounding areas when the does come in , deer there just aren't that feeder crazy like out west.
hunt edges of recent logging
after the first hard freeze and leaves drop , hunting gets really bad
don't miss the evening hunts deer there are very noctournal, so hunt till the end of legal hrs.
watch for poachers and stray dogs, i shot more dogs than deer, keep your stuff locked up at all times. never seen so many people nosing around...........
If you have a road/ pipeline put up a stand and hunt it hard. It is your best better to see deer in the pineywoods. I hunt north of jasper on 2400 acres. Our best stand is on a high power line easement.
