.....Hopkins County and surrounding to be more specific. Hunted this past weekend with very little deer movement and the bucks still in bachelor groups or so the cameras tell us. I thought after last weeks front that they would slide into pre-rut but guess I was wrong. Any ideas as to when these bucks rut?
Same here in Panola Co. Have or had 3 8 pts together on my camera just a week ago. Not seeing any rubs or scrapes.....................well, did find 2 small ones. Had a group of does come by on Wed evening. No bucks.
The week of Thanksgiving has always been the period of full rut where we hunt.
I hunt Lamar County and think thing are going to change a great deal the next week or so. My place is only a little over an hour to the lease and it is 48* and raining right now. They are forcasting low in the mid 40's until Friday. Got a full moon on Thursday
This weekend may be the best, moon a side, so far this year and I hope it is because of the youth hunt this weekend. Three of our guys have younger boys they are bring up this weekend.
As the poster above said, Thanksgiving is when things get real interesting.
im no expert but today would have been a good day to throw them into rut or fer shure pre rut--it was real cool and nasty just the way i like to hunt--im hunting the avinger area--north east of lake of the pines--it just gonna get better from here on out--so get out there and hunt--im gonna
