Got my first double drop tine Thursday morning. His left is 5" and his right was 4". Does anyone know how to score this deer? I know the basics of P&Y scoring, but with double drops do you get an extra base since the deer had an 8 point frame? Anyone guess the age? I will have it done officially when I take it the taxidermy man.
I would say off hand he will be high 120's and get to 130 maybe BC--I don't know P/Y system--The Brow's and small G2's are hurting his score but the DROPS more than make up for any score--I would love to have such a fine Buck! Man thats cool!
3.5 --4.5--Can U let us know on the score and age when UR taxy guy see's him?

Great buck !! You will score the deer as a typical 8...your 4th circ. is taken b/t the G3 and the end of the mainbeam..them your drop tines will score as abnormal point..you can still score the deer as typical but the standard deductions for asymmetry will apply..as long as you net 125'' you've got yourself a P&Y..there are other rules that apply if you want it in the books and the one that will get most hunters these days is the % let off..last I heard if you have greater than 65% let off you couldn't qualify..hopefully that rule has changed..I bet chunky will know the answer..Walker
Score the deer just like you normaly would and just add the two drops into the score for a gross.
You still only get four circumference measuments.
Great buck with bow or rifle....congrats
