.....yep ...cause when they "stick", they stick open......I like the oversize cages. At least theres some protection from a headbutting axis/aoudad. If the coons can't reach the spinner plate with their little coon hands, then they can't spin it to get corn. The little 14" cube shaped varmint guards won't do it. As stated, it just gives the little buggers a good place to hang while spinning your plate and eating your corn. The full size round guards will stop coons, at least they did on my feeders. They just can't reach the plate and eventually give up.

Eliminator. I have game cam photos of them climbing up the legs of my feeder, trying to spin the plate with their little paws, but not staying there too long. It works great.

Full barrel diameter cages.

My friend bought a cage....made locally and sold at a hardware store. the cage is the same diameter as the bbl. It works. He had to modify it with a door to be able to access the timer without taking the whole thing down every time. Now he makes them himself (not for sale just for him and his lease members)

I have used the cages for years and we pretty much replaced all of them last year with the eliminator and I will not go back to a cage.

Same here. Tried everything. Eliminator is the only thing that works!

I cant remember the name of the product, it is a piece a tin stamped or perforated, I put it on my feeder legs and the coons learned how to avoid it. We took them off and wrapped them in a circle up the leg. That worked.

Well I am back from Blanco this weekend and all looks well. Deer are looking great! Having trouble attracting the pigs but hopefully we will get some more soon.

I am still trying to coon proof the feeder. I purchased the Eliminator plate and when I went to take off the SpinTech, I could not get the screw off the SpinTech to add the Eliminator plate. I tried everything to add the Eliminator plate but just could not do it - I may need to get a new unit or motor to add the plate. I improvised and built a coon cage. Hopefully this will work
