West Beachfront Saturday Evening

Fished the beachfront from 6-7:30 (dinner was waiting). The East wind was blowing pretty hard and the current was bad. The surf was not a big problem unless I was changing lures or taking off a fish, the clarity was good for as windy as it was.
Threw a 51MR black/silver and 52M red/gold/yellow
Caught some nice size Spanish Mackeral and hooked up on one mombo big trout which came up and wallowed and somehow shook the hooks. The water was FULL of tennis ball sized cabbageheads which didn't seem to bother me even though I wasn't wearing a shirt.
The wind this morning is back light NE now at 5:30 but will switch to E and then come around to SE hopefully later today.
