Question Wounded Warriors fishing 8/18. Need advice.

I volunteered to help with the Wounded Warriors fishing trip this Saturday and could use a little advice and/or tips on where to fish since I am not very familiar with the Galveston Bay area. We are launching out of GYB and I figured we would hit the jetties if the weather allows but where would be some other good areas to take these heros to try to put them on some fish. Any and all help is appreciated. We will be fishing out of an 18' Blue Wave.

Jetties, railroad bridge @ Galveston causeway, pelican island bridge, fish live bait with just enough weight to let bait "free line swim" with current. Hope this helps, awesome of you to help out, great cause. Good luck!

I'll be doing the same over labor day out in west bay, possibly off shore. These guys are coming from out of state. Does anyone know if there is an license exemption or 3-5 day out of state license?

My advice is to relax and remember it's not a tournament. The people you'll prob have on your boat are likely not hard core anglers, and will prob have a ball catching anything!
I start out trying to catch "real" fish, then turn to just getting a tug! Our trip, for the POC event was salvaged by 2 hours of non stop black drum - smiles and highfives galore!

Tell the Warriors how thankful we are for their service, keep them comfy and safe.

Kudos to you for volunteering!

Thanks for the info guys. Also, is there anywhere to get live bait on the way? I'm coming from the Beaumont area so will be taking the ferry over to Galveston from Bolivar.
