Stacked up behind the pass this morning

I waded the south shoreline of west bay this morning and picked up a few reds early but all were under 20". Decided to do some driving and see how a few of the regular wadingc spots looked. The backside of San Luis Pass is packed, which I figured it would be. There's gotta be 60-70 guys fishing from boats, kayaks and wading lined up up and down the guts as far as you can see. And in early summer the pass is a heck of a place to fish, one of the few spots you can catch a trout, flounder or red on any cast. I'm done fishing this morning, but I think it's a pretty cool sight seeing so many guys spending their Memorial Day wknd doing what they enjoy. Made me stop and think about what this holiday actually means. I'm blessed to be able to get up and take my boys fishing, and be safe bc soldiers go over there and kick *** to keep our country secure. Any of you guys that serve or have served in armed forces, we all sure appreciate it!Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338125008.435757.jpg

Surf starting to clean up some, still choppy but sandy green in close. Fished w wife for a few min and caught drum, whiting and rat reds, no trout.

Nice post Royboy42!
I took the time today to explain to my 10 year old son that Memorial Day is first about being greatful for the men and women of our armed forces who serve, have served and those who have paid the ultimate price so that we may live our lives free and without fear of those who mean us harm invading our shores. I explained to him it's ok to have fun this weekend, but never forget why we can.

God Bless all of the Men and Women of our Armed Forces. I am greatful for your sacrifices.
