Go-to Bass Fly

Moving at the end of this week and I'm losing my conventional saltwater spot. On the upside, where I'm moving to is within 15 mins of several neighborhood ponds, parks and creeks, so I plan on making good use of a fly rod!

Question for the local Houstonians: Is there a go to bass fly/color pattern that I need to get my hands on? My Christmas list (ambitious I know) includes a tying station, but until then I have to settle for pre-tied. Just looking to grow my meager collection until I can start tying my own.

Thanks for the input!

This is my go to bass fly. Really though, I have caught crappie, blue gill, cat fish and bass on it. This is a generic pic. I tie my own. Different color wooly buggers and poppers work great.

Thanks! that's all I'm looking for is something to base my shopping and future tying off of! I have a couple of poppers that I like throwing also, I just haven't found any fish that appreciated them...Other opinions??

Big bunny leeches work very well. Tie on a loop of braid for a stinger hook, tie on a magnum zonker strip 4" long at the bend, tie on a piece of crosscut rabbit at the bend, wind thread forward, attach dumbell eyes, palmer the crosscut forward, tie off the crosscut and snip excess, add a few areands of flash, whip finish, cement and done. Break off the front hook at the bend and loop a hook through the braid at the back. It's a 5 minute fly. Easy and deadly. Black works great, but they'll eat other colors.
