Conservation Crossfire/Fisheries Issues A place for everyone interested in fisheries discussion from a regulatory/political standpoint. The laws surrounding fishing and our fisheries are changing, and this is the place to learn about changes on the horizon. Please keep it civil. We can disagree with one another, without becoming disagreeable.

http://www.aransascountytx.gov/main/...ices.php#oinfo Go to the bottom of the page and check out the 2 request for studies. I have confirmed with Judge Mills that the pass WILL NOT be opened until these studies are complete (they take, at minimum 10 months). If they were started now it would carry over into whooping crane season and the pass would in turn be opened in APRIL 2014. Both studies seem like typical BS to delay a project like this. My question is how the heck do you overlook something like this??? a fish study...What the hay is a piping plover?

piping plovers are a shorebird ...
they nest on the beach
large parts of Cape Hatteras are now closed to the public acct of this bird's supposedly dwindling numbers.
