You can get plug-ins to view a multitude of file types.
It is very easy to use.
Good for resizing pictures for uploading to web pages such as this one or via email for faster downloads especially if you want to reduce the size of the file for say dial up users.
It is also good for fast scanning thru picture files by simply hiting the space bar or backspace.
