Bantam will not be able to tell us anything about "new products" until he is given the green light by Shimano.

With that being said, I think the answer to the OP's question is YES.

So, if you like the MG50, then you may want to pick up one (or more) as backups.

Can't wait to see what Shimano comes up with to replace or remodel the MG50 & Chronarch B's.

No one asked but the Chronarch B's are on sale too.

I picked one up from Tackle Warehouse. $186 to my door, which included free shipping and a free tshirt! It worked great on a limit of trout Saturday. I cannot imagine a reel better than the 50mg, but it looks like Shimano can!

I am waiting to see it!
