Popping Corks ..... Mono or Braid ?

I fished with braid my last time out and liked the immediate response I got with the pop(s).
Just wondering waht y'all prefer for pooping corks?

Thanks guys.

it is very hard to pop a cork with mono. braid is far superior for corks

Using mono is like using a "rubber band". I keep one pole rigged with it to use if it is real windy. I prefer Windtamer pink and usually use the 30# it is the same diameter as either 8 or 12 # mono anyhow it gets the job done!

What the heck am I talking about never use braid and never use popping corks! They are terrible nobody catches anything on them!!!!!!!!
Stay away from them what ever you do!!!!!!!!

Braid works fine for me because you dont have to exaggerate pops and wear your shoulder out like with mono. Works either way for me but with braid you can set the hook faster and get quicker reaction when the cork disappears. I have switched back to mono for my topwater/corky/maniac mullet rod to see if i land more large trout with the extra stretch

I like sufix seige, its some great stuff. Used it for quite a while before i went to braid again. Gotta love the popping cork, i use a chatterweight as a stopper under my cork, works great

I only use mono for popping corks - with braid, there just isn't any give, corks don't stay on very well and I seem to lose too many fish. I use braid for artificial.

Why would you lose a fish due to using braid?
