Curado 200B

I cleaned my Curado tonight and all went well. After reassembly it freespools great, as good as new. However when you turn the handle it is not as free as I would like. I greased the teeth of the two plastic gears under the big grass pinion gear. Not sure if I was supposed to grease the teeth of those gears or just put a dab of grease on top of them. Also how much grease should be put on the teeth of the big brass pinion gear?

Very light coating with a small paint brush( artist brush). It also depends on what you grease them with. I used to cut the Shimano drag grease down a bit with mineral oil for the gears. Either way, can you actually reel in as fast as you spin that handle to see how free it is? Also, take a look at where that main post "c" clips into the side frame. I've had that brass washer under it slip while I was getting it back on and it caused that clip to bind a bit. Made the handle turn slower cuz it put more pressure on the main post.. Hope this helps..Dip

You can lightly grease the idle gears, but it is not needed. We grease the main gear teeth on 1/2 of the gear. Nothing on the pinion gear. This is more that sufficient to lubricate the gears.
