My boss has asked me where to buy 20-30 pounds of "good" boudain to take back to New York with him. I've always got mine in Oakdale or Oberlin. I know we have some transplanted Cajuns here. can somebody hook a brotha up? Thanx, Guy
Guy there is a cajun place on Broadway in Galveston that is supposed to have some of the best you can buy. I don't know for sure cause I wouldn't know if it was the best or not. I haven't ate that much of it.
I like Hebert's, Dairy Ashford and I-10 and the Woodlands, and Ricchmond inside the loop I believe. $3.00 a pound, I love that stuff as an appetizer before the de-boned stuffed chicken.
There's a client/customer of Doc Davis' named Ulysses (______)? Old black gentleman/horseman originally from LA. He makes a ton of it for Doc's Derby Day Party every year. Stuff is too hot to think about what's in it...but it is great. Don't remember what he charges for it and will find out his phone and other information tomorrow and pm you with it. Don't know whether or not he can help you. This guy is OLD! Since I saw him last he may have taken his escorted trip down Cullen. He kinda' reminded me of Blind Melon Chitlin of Cheech and Chong fame:
While Nick's is one of the best, I think that there are better. I'll be buying 30 pounds in the morning for one of my customers. I do that a couple of times a week. I get the 10 pounds I eat out of smoked. Now that is the best!!!
Guy,
When is he needing this? I can hook you up with Nick's or my favorite, which is in Lake Chuck by the way. Let me know if I can help.

If so...that is some Dang good Boudain...There was also a store in Creole that those 5 Cajun Girl's that are sister's own ,they had some good stuff ...and the Boudain was pretty good too..
I guess growing up 2 blocks from Nick's makes me partial....and working there, and having the Recipe that I gave Badhabit, that I never got any after he made the Boudain makes me think it's the best as well.
I'm as **** *** as they come, and I've grown up on the boudain from Nick's in Port Arthur, and I'm here to tell you DJ's Boudain you can find in the grocery store is the same stuff that comes out of Port Arthur, it is amazing. I lived in College Station for the better part of 5 years and they had it at all the groceries, it is awesome
Nicks and DJs both have good stuff....use to get it by the case going to fire school at Lamar...
We are going to be makeing our own again this year....We have a seemingly unlimited supply of Hog Liver on the Hoof and green onions in tha garden..
If ya smoke it right...you can eat caseing and all....
Gained 2 lbs just reading this thread....LOL...
I LUV GOOD BOUDAIN> TOM AND I USE TO MAKE SEAFOOD BOUDAIN WITH CRAB AND SHRIMP. Seriously the best, but we had a prablem. WE ATE IT ALL BEFORE WE COULD SHARE IT. Then we got so busy for the Lord we quit and i have dropped 90+ pounds.
Now i want boudain. I am on a mission. I am going to send my driver to get some. Lockwood Inn use to have some tasty boudain. Or the Kozy Kitchen??
I make a run to the Lafayette area every couple of weeks for work. "The Best Spot" in Scott, LA is my fav. I always have 10+ # in the freezer. Their cracklins are good 2.
Locally, Abe's Cajun Market in Clear Lake is good.
well anomaly when you going and would you offer to pick up some for us "BOUDAIN CRAVING" folks. I pitch in some gas money. and a tip on top of the cost.
