Both of the 17# & 20# are kind of small diameters. We always use 30 on our baitcasters with 25# or 30# mono leaders. The mono leaders are important.
It keeps the braid from getting taigled with the lure and les obvious.
The thinner line tangles easier and is harder to un-tangle.
My brother & his son are big time redfish tournament competitors in Florida they strickly use braid on spinning reeels.
Once I got use to the braid I love it. You feel the slightest tap on the line and
I think my hook up ratio improved dramatically.
